We must show them the positive side of learning, it is not “work” but “fun” to learn.

Children love the magic and mystery of the game with numbers, they will inspire you as they begin to give the number and the fundamental importance, but it’s not something that will happen tomorrow, it will take some time, and patients.

Mathematics Concepts and Skills – Repetition in Math

In the last two decades there has been a decline in emphasis on the importance of repetition of mathematical concepts and skills in teaching the subject was. The focus has shifted more towards reflection and skills “to work outside the square”, which means in a position to implement solutions to real situations. This was due to an increase in the amount of written material in secondary school mathematics textbooks, and a decrease in the amount of repetitive exercises where only the basic mathematical skills are practiced accompanied.

What is good in theory, but show steadily declining standards for mathematics in Australia and the United States that this approach to mathematics is not as good as it sounds. The problem lies with its assumption that students already have the basic skills needed to solve the problem. In mathematics, it is not possible to “work off the field” if one is not competent in all skills included in the square. For example, a student may not be able to be a problem with the amount of wire needed to fence paddocks to solve Farmer Brown, if not precisely calculate the perimeter first.
